Welcome to the Zolidarity FAQ — your trusted guide to understanding cannabis, membership, and responsible consumption. Whether you’re new to the plant or simply curious, this page is here to help you make informed, safe, and legal choices.
Yes — but with important restrictions.
Private, personal use of cannabis by adults was decriminalised by the Constitutional Court in 2018.
This means adults may possess, grow, and consume cannabis privately, but not buy or sell it publicly.
Zolidarity operates as a private cannabis club, where members collectively access and share resources in compliance with these guidelines.
We do not sell cannabis in a traditional retail sense — we facilitate private, member-based access in accordance with South African law.
In South Africa, direct “sales” of cannabis remain restricted. However, cannabis clubs like Zolidarity operate under a private, closed membership model, where members may contribute and receive cannabis-related goods within a lawful, private framework.
By becoming a member, you acknowledge that all products and benefits are for personal use only and not for resale or distribution.
You may travel with small amounts of cannabis for personal use within South Africa, provided it remains out of public view and is stored securely.
However, transporting cannabis across provincial or national borders can still be legally risky. Always act responsibly and privately.
Yes — adults in South Africa may grow cannabis plants for private, personal use.
You may not sell or publicly distribute what you grow.

No.
Zolidarity is a private, recreational and wellness-based cannabis club, not a medical cannabis dispensary.
If you require medical cannabis for a diagnosed condition, consult a doctor registered with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).
Yes.
We prioritise safety and transparency by sourcing from trusted partners and producers who adhere to strict quality and hygiene standards.
Each batch is checked for consistency, potency, and purity to ensure members receive safe, reliable products.
“Full-spectrum” cannabis products contain all the naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant — including cannabinoids (like THC, CBD, CBG), terpenes, flavonoids, and other beneficial plant compounds.
These work together in what’s known as the “entourage effect”, enhancing the overall therapeutic benefits compared to isolated or refined extracts.
Full-Spectrum: Contains all cannabinoids, terpenes, and compounds for a natural, balanced experience.
Distillate: Highly refined, usually focusing on one main cannabinoid (like THC or CBD). It offers potency but loses natural flavor and complexity.
Isolate: 99% pure single compound (e.g., CBD isolate), with no other cannabinoids or terpenes.
Full-spectrum is generally preferred by users seeking a more holistic and natural effect.
That depends on the THC content of the product.
Full-spectrum THC-rich products may produce a mild to moderate psychoactive effect.
Full-spectrum CBD-dominant products usually do not cause intoxication but may promote calmness and relaxation.
Always start with a low dose and increase gradually to find your comfort zone.
Private use of cannabis by adults is decriminalised in South Africa.
Zolidarity operates within the private club model, offering cannabis products exclusively to registered members for personal, private use.
Public consumption, resale, or distribution remains illegal.
Full-spectrum extracts may offer:
Enhanced therapeutic effects from combined cannabinoids and terpenes.
More balanced and natural relief for stress, pain, or sleep issues.
A richer flavor and aroma profile, staying true to the original plant.
There are several ways to enjoy full-spectrum products:
Vaping: Fast-acting, controlled dosage, and less harsh than smoking.
Edibles or Oils: Longer-lasting effects, ideal for relaxation or sleep support.
Topicals: Applied to the skin for targeted relief without psychoactive effects.
Start small, especially with edibles — effects can take up to 60–90 minutes to appear and last several hours.
Yes — but it’s best to start low and slow.
Begin with products that have a balanced CBD:THC ratio, or choose CBD-dominant full-spectrum oils if you prefer a non-psychoactive experience.
It’s not recommended to mix cannabis with alcohol or certain prescription drugs without consulting a healthcare provider.
Cannabis can amplify sedative effects or interact with medications that affect the liver or nervous system.
Store them in a cool, dark, and dry place, away from sunlight and extreme heat.
Always keep cannabis products out of reach of children and pets.
Proper storage maintains potency and flavor for up to 6–12 months.
You may not travel with cannabis products across provincial or international borders, even within South Africa.
All use and storage must remain private and within your registered premises as a Zolidarity member.
Yes. All Zolidarity products undergo quality control and lab testing to ensure purity, potency, and safety.
We prioritise natural, chemical-free extraction methods to deliver clean, full-spectrum results.
Full-spectrum products tend to produce a well-rounded, body-and-mind effect — promoting relaxation, mood balance, and physical ease without overwhelming intensity.
Each strain and formula will offer a slightly different experience depending on its cannabinoid and terpene profile.

Start low, go slow.
If you’re new to cannabis, we recommend beginning with low-THC or balanced THC:CBD (full-spectrum) products. These have gentler effects and are less likely to cause anxiety or dizziness.
Always consume in a safe, private, and relaxed environment with people you trust. Do not drive or do anything that could put yourself or someone else at risk after consuming cannabis!
There are several methods, each with unique effects and onset times:
| Method | Description | Onset | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smoking | Traditional method using a joint or pipe. | 1–5 mins | 1–3 hrs |
| Vaping | Heats cannabis without burning it, producing cleaner vapour. | 1–5 mins | 1–3 hrs |
| Edibles | Infused foods or drinks; effects take longer but last longer. | 30–90 mins | 4–8 hrs |
| Oils / Tinctures | Dropped under the tongue for controlled dosing. | 15–45 mins | 2–6 hrs |
| Topicals | Creams and balms for external use; non-psychoactive. | N/A | Varies |
Start with a small dose (2–5mg THC) or a few gentle puffs if smoking or vaping.
Wait at least 60–90 minutes before consuming more — especially with edibles, as their effects take longer to appear.
You cannot “overdose” fatally on cannabis, but you can experience unpleasant effects such as dizziness, nausea, or anxiety.
If you feel uncomfortable:
Stay calm — the effects will fade with time.
Sit or lie down in a safe space.
Drink water, consume citrus and avoid caffeine or alcohol.
Try to distract yourself (music, TV, conversation).
In extreme cases (e.g., panic, rapid heartbeat), seek medical assistance.
Smoking more cannabis won’t make it go away! Know when it’s time to stop.
Cannabis is not physically addictive in the same way as substances like alcohol or nicotine, but it can become habit-forming for some users.
Moderation, self-awareness, and responsible use are key.
People get “addicted” to the idea of getting high, being high or the thought of being high when performing certain tasks.
Don’t try to convince yourself that everything will be more enjoyable if you’re high!
There’s a time and a place.
No.
Driving, operating machinery, or performing safety-sensitive tasks while under the influence of cannabis is dangerous and illegal. Always wait until the effects have completely worn off before doing so.
Mixing cannabis with alcohol or other drugs can intensify effects and increase risks such as nausea, dizziness, or panic.
It’s best to avoid combining substances, especially as a beginner.
Ever heard someone say they got “greenies” from mixing cannabis and alcohol? Not fun!
Zolidarity encourages safe, responsible, and informed cannabis use. Always respect the law, your limits, and the community around you.
Together, we’re building a future where cannabis is celebrated — not stigmatized!
